Science and Sign Language

Imagine trying to learn biology without ever using the word “organism.” Or studying to become a botanist when the only way of referring to photosynthesis is to spell the word out, letter by painstaking letter.

A brilliant idea has been proposed to add new words to sign language. Inclusive not exclusive, science that’s how it should be! Lovely interactive website, check it

A successful ad campaign, cleaver touch to connect virtual-tactile dilemma.

Meet&Seat or Creep&Disturb? Yet another social experiment in the social media corner. KLM took a step to integrate facebook and linkedin accounts of passenger so they can sit next to people that they find interesting. I see a big problem here. Shouldn’t this be the other way around instead of having a possibility have someone creeping next to you while you fly? Shouldn’t it would be nicer to have this at business class with larger space between seats and more convinient way? Anyhow, the trend of integration of Social Media is getting more and more integrated to daily life that is one fact for sure.

The IxDA 2012 awards had just announced. They were really big competitors next to indie projects. Gladly, the empowering projects won this year. One of them is “Out of the Box”. Well let’s face it, not everyone grew up with Commodore 64s, Gameboys or iPhones. Some had no interaction with technology. Well nowadays it in our life so how can we teach this technology to someone who never dealt with it before? It thing it’s all about power of correct User Experience again!

Future of Interaction Design

After the recent video of Microsoft’s Future Design’s department, Microsoft 2019, there were some hot debates on why the Microsoft implied so much on multi-touch surface designs. I mean in the video everything was touch based. I fear future is that boring. Anyhow former Apple designer, Bret Victor, who involved in iPod wrote an article about the current interaction design vision. Well he has a point

In the age of digitalization, some still are rowing against the current. I don’t think it is necessarily wrong or pretentious. Au contraire, it is all about a good experiment to see where the digitalization and physical world will meet. Little Printer has both physical and user interface designed very elegantly and cute. He can get your feeds from foursquare, Nike+, Google, Arup and The Guardian. The only question is the ink and paper resource. It shouldn’t force user to print everything dumbly, it should do it in a optimised way and you know what would it be cool, if it can print on your return papers like on your grumpy electricity bill, a half doodled paper that you were about to throw it away. Green design, recycling, win win for everybody..
